Climate Crisis CO2 emissions hit record level but the real shocker is this: CO2 rose 0.7 ppm per year in the 1950s - 80s. Then, in the 1990s, the rate increased to 1.5 ppm per year. The last decade has averaged 2.2 ppm. Yet, in the last year, it was a 3.5 ppm gain and shows no signs of slowing.
