The ESA is developing a plan to bring martian samples collected by NASA's Mars 2020 rover back to Earth. A 2nd rover would collect samples that Mars 2020 digs up before loading them into an ascent vehicle, which would then transfer them to a craft in Mars' orbit that would return them to Earth.
