A very large iceberg broke off the Ronne Ice Shelf in Antarctica, now moving into the Weddell Sea. It is over 4,300 square kilometers (1,660 square miles) in size and is the largest iceberg in the world. It is larger than the state of Rhode Island and more than 5 times larger than New York City.
